Born in Austria in 1976, Elena Exenberger spent her early childhood in her parents’ mountain lodge in the Austrian Alps. From the age of four, her family began spending the winters in Ibiza, and she grew up between two contrasting landscapes: the Mediterranean Sea and the Alpine mountains. Introduced to painting by her father, she created her first watercolour at eleven. After secondary school, she studied Interior Design at the School of Arts and Crafts of Ibiza, now the School of Art, and later entered the artistic baccalaureate programme, passing the university entrance examination in 1997. In the following years, she continued to develop her practice in painting and sculpture as a founding member of the local artists’ association Es Rovell de Portmany. She took part in group exhibitions in Sant Antoni and in several editions of Art Jove, where she was twice selected as a finalist in sculpture. In 2004, she began studying at the School of Art and Higher Design of Valencia, graduating in Product Design in 2008. Alongside her studies, she exhibited in Ibiza and Valencia. Her work has progressively evolved towards surrealism, with nature and mythology as central themes. In parallel with painting, she has also explored ceramics, particularly sculpture and bas-relief.Exhibitions: Group exhibition with Es Rovell de Portmany:1997&1998 Participation in Art Jove 2001,(The finalist piece was exhibited throughout the Balearic Islands).Solo exhibition, Es Cantó, Sant Antoni 2003.Group exhibition Punta des Molí Ibiza 2004.Solo exhibition Sala Campoamor,Valencia 2005.Solo exhibition Bar Babel Sant Antoni 2006 Solo exhibition Es Cantó Sant Antoni 2008.
